About the job

In the role of Legal & KYC Compliance Analyst, you will be essential in protecting OLYX’s integrity, reducing compliance risks, and supporting the contractual foundations that enable us to operate effectively as a broker.

This hybrid role combines legal tasks linked to our brokerage activity with the analytical KYC and compliance work needed to start and maintain partnerships, support market entry, and uphold OLYX’s strong reputation.

Your time will be split roughly 50/50 between legal work and KYC & compliance, giving you a varied and engaging role in a growing international environment.

Working closely with our brokers and operations team, you will help ensure smooth client onboarding and ongoing due diligence.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Legal Responsibilities (around 50%)

• Draft, review, and maintain brokerage agreements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with applicable Dutch and EU commercial laws plus industry standards.
• Review, update, and maintain GTCs (General Terms & Conditions) used in brokerage activities.
• Negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) for new partners or sensitive projects.
• Support the assessment of contractual risks and identify matters requiring legal escalation.
• Assist in developing and improving internal legal templates to support OLYX’s brokerage operations.
• Ensure legal documentation remains updated, consistent, and compliant with applicable commercial laws.
• Provide internal stakeholders (brokers, operations, management) with practical legal insights that support commercial decision-making.

KYC & Compliance responsibilities (around 50%)

• Perform KYC due diligence on new and existing counterparties, interpreting international corporate structures, UBO information, and compliance risks.
• Carry out background and sanctions checks using platforms such as LSEG World-Check and assess the outcomes in a commercial risk context.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence for high-risk or complex entities and individuals.
• Improve the internal governance framework, including sanctions monitoring, market-abuse prevention measures, Code of Ethics, and data privacy policies.
• Support periodic review cycles and ensure documentation remains compliant and appropriately risk-assessed.
• Communicate effectively with brokers, clients, and internal teams regarding KYC & compliance requirements and legal considerations.

 

About you

• Bachelor’s /Master’s degree in Law is required.
• Previous experience in a legal role and/or KYC or Compliance support role is preferred.
• Ability to interpret legal texts and understand the implications of contractual terms.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to form reasoned risk judgments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
• Professional communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Proficient with Google Workspace and document management systems.
• Experience in a similar role in the renewable energy or commodity trading sector is a plus.
