About the job

We are looking for a full-time (40-hour) Broker for the Spanish market to join our team at our head office on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating and optimising transactions across a diverse portfolio of clients.  This position requires a strong understanding of the complex biofuel landscape, including identifying opportunities, negotiating transactions, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Tasks and Responsibilities 

As a member of the desk, you will act as a broker responsible for generating and structuring trade ideas while managing and expanding your own client portfolio. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to build trust with both clients and colleagues.

• Market Analysis: Stay up to date with developments in the biofuel market, including regulatory changes, pricing trends, and project opportunities. Identify trading opportunities across the global biofuel spot and forward markets.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, developing a deep understanding of their needs across the biofuel supply chain. Provide tailored solutions,market insights, and optionality, while identifying both domestic and international arbitrage opportunities in collaboration with other OLYX desks.
• Operating in a Fast-Paced Environment: Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings, bringing structure and clarity to complex, evolving situations.

About you

• Fluent in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in sales, trading, or consultancy is considered an advantage.
• Self-driven and resilient, with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and structured mindset, with a natural curiosity.
• Ability to understand and navigate complex market dynamics.
• Strong commercial mindset with a focus on identifying and closing opportunities.
• Based in the Netherlands (or willing to relocate) and holding a valid work permit.
