About the job

We are looking for a full-time broker for the biofuel market to join our team. This position involves understanding the complex biofuel landscape, identifying opportunities, negotiating transactions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. If you are a  professional with a natural interest in sustainability and trading, this might be the best fit for you. 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities 

As a team member of the desk, your role as a broker would be creating and structuring trade ideas while managing and growing your own portfolio of clients. You will need strong interpersonal skills to gain your clients’ and co-workers’ trust. 

• Market Analysis: Keeping informed about the latest developments in the biofuel market, including regulatory changes, pricing trends, and project development opportunities.
• Client engagement: Establishing and nurturing client relationships, while thoroughly understanding their requirements within the biofuel supply chain. Offering optionality and up-to-date market insights to clients, with a deep understanding of the variables that impact their domestic market, but also the international arbitrage opportunities that we map out in collaboration with the other desks within OLYX.
• Being able to excel on the edge of chaos. Meaning, you are able to apply structure in a chaotic and fast-paced environment.

 

About you

• Fluent in Dutch or German and English
• Master’s degree in economics, finance, econometrics, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related fields
• 1- 3 years’ experience in Sales/Trading/Consultancy is a plus
• Self-motivated, stress-tolerant, analytical, inquisitive, and entrepreneurial
• Great attention to detail
• Capable of understanding and navigating complex market landscape
• Great commercial aptitude – deal closer
