About the job:

We are looking for a full-time broker for the Asian biofuel market to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating and optimizing transactions among a diverse portfolio of clients.
It will require a deep understanding of the complex biofuel landscape, identifying opportunities, negotiating transactions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Commercial Mind: Strong business sense with a solid understanding of commercial principles, market dynamics, and strategic thinking, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, assess risks, and make data-informed decisions that drive business growth.
  
• Origination and sourcing skills: Familiarity with Asian business culture, including regional nuances in communication, negotiation, and relationship-building. Proven experience working in or with markets in Asia is a strong plus.
• Client Engagement: Establishing and nurturing client relationships while thoroughly understanding their requirements within the biofuel supply chain. Offering optionality and up-to-date market insights to clients, with a deep understanding of the variables that impact their domestic market, but also the international arbitrage opportunities that we map out in collaboration with the other desks within OLYX.
• Market Analysis: Keeping informed about the latest developments in the Asian and European biofuel market, including regulatory changes, pricing trends, and project development opportunities.

About you

• Fluent in English and Chinese. Other Asian languages is a plus;
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, finance, environmental science, environmental engineering, supply chain management, or related fields;
• 0- 3 years of experience in the biofuel industry is a plus;
• Self-starter, stress-tolerant, analytical, inquisitive, and entrepreneurial;
• Capable of understanding and navigating complex market landscapes;
• Great commercial aptitude – deal closer.
